Peer Review Process

All manuscripts submitted to Computers in Earth Science Letters (CESL) undergo a rigorous and fair double-blind peer review process to ensure the quality, originality, and scientific integrity of the published articles.

Upon submission, each manuscript is initially evaluated by the Editor-in-Chief or an assigned Handling Editor to assess its relevance to the journal’s scope, compliance with ethical standards, and overall academic quality. Manuscripts that do not meet these criteria may be rejected at this stage without external review.

Manuscripts passing the initial screening are then reviewed by at least two independent expert reviewers with relevant expertise. Reviewers evaluate the manuscript based on scientific merit, methodological soundness, originality, clarity of presentation, and significance of the results.

Based on the reviewers’ reports, the editor makes one of the following decisions:

  • Accept without revision

  • Accept with minor revisions

  • Revise and resubmit (major revisions)

  • Reject

Authors are required to address all reviewer comments in a clear and systematic manner. Revised manuscripts may be returned to the original reviewers for further evaluation if necessary.

The editorial team ensures that the peer review process is conducted in a confidential, objective, and timely manner, with all parties adhering to the journal’s ethical guidelines and standards of scholarly publishing.
