Author Guidelines

Author Guidelines for AI and Developmental Insights in Education (AIDIE)

Manuscript Submissions

  • All manuscripts should be submitted through the electronic platform (Open Journal System). Authors must use the provided doc template when submitting their manuscripts.
  • AIDIE will not publish more than one article by the same author or co-author within a 24-month period.
  • Manuscripts that do not adhere to these author guidelines will be rejected.
  • Since its establishment, AIDIE has not charged Article Processing Charges (APCs) to authors for the publication of their manuscripts.

Authors' Responsibilities

Authors must comply with international publication ethics standards, as set out by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) during the 2nd World Conference on Research Integrity in Singapore, 2010. These responsibilities include:

  • Conducting research ethically and in compliance with relevant legislation.
  • Presenting results clearly, honestly, and without fabrication or data manipulation.
  • Describing methods unambiguously to ensure reproducibility.
  • Ensuring submitted work is original, not plagiarized, and not under consideration elsewhere.
  • Taking collective responsibility for submitted and published work.
  • Ensuring authorship accurately reflects contributions.
  • Disclosing funding sources and conflicts of interest.
  • Participating in the peer review process.
  • Providing retractions or corrections of mistakes when required.
  • Including relevant and current references.

Changes to Authorship

Authors are strongly advised to finalize the author group and sequence at the time of submission. Changes in authorship, such as adding or removing authors or changing the corresponding author, are not allowed after acceptance.

Evaluation Procedure

Upon submission, manuscripts undergo an initial screening to ensure adherence to submission requirements. Manuscripts are then assigned to two external reviewers for a double-blind peer review process. Both authors' and reviewers' identities remain anonymous.

The peer-review process includes:

  • Assignment to suitable reviewers based on expertise.
  • Option for authors to suggest potential reviewers (with institutional emails) and request exclusions.
  • Reviewers providing feedback within 4-6 weeks.
  • Editorial decision based on reviewers' reports.
  • Authors receiving reviewer comments and revision requests.

A final decision is communicated within 3 months of submission.

Guidelines for Article Submission

To ensure originality, authors are encouraged to check for plagiarism using tools such as iThenticate.
