Digital Preservation

Digital Preservation Policy of AI and Developmental Insights in Education (AIDIE)

AI and Developmental Insights in Education (AIDIE) is committed to ensuring the long-term accessibility and preservation of its published content. Recognizing the importance of preserving scholarly work for future generations, AIDIE employs a comprehensive digital preservation strategy that safeguards all published articles and associated metadata against loss, corruption, or obsolescence.

Preservation Strategies

PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN)

  • AIDIE is archived using the Public Knowledge Project Preservation Network (PKP PN), which provides free and secure digital archiving services for Open Journal Systems (OJS) journals.
  • PKP PN ensures that journal content remains accessible even in the event of catastrophic server failure or other unforeseen circumstances.

LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe)

  • AIDIE content is preserved using the LOCKSS technology, which enables libraries worldwide to collect, store, and provide persistent access to journal content by creating multiple backup copies across participating libraries.

CLOCKSS (Controlled LOCKSS)

  • The journal also utilizes the CLOCKSS system, ensuring content is securely preserved in a global, decentralized network that guarantees accessibility even if the journal ceases operations.

Institutional and Third-Party Repositories

AIDIE encourages authors and institutions to deposit their published articles in reputable repositories such as:

  • Institutional repositories of their respective universities.
  • Subject-specific repositories like arXiv, ResearchGate, and SSRN.
  • National repositories such as Garuda (Garba Rujukan Digital) for Indonesian scholarly work.

Regular Backups

The editorial office conducts regular backups of all journal content, including articles, metadata, reviewer reports, and administrative data, to multiple secure storage locations.

DOI and Metadata Preservation

All published articles are assigned a Digital Object Identifier (DOI) through Crossref, ensuring permanent discoverability and citation tracking. Metadata is stored in globally recognized indexing services to maintain accessibility.

Access and Retrieval of Archived Content

Preserved content can be accessed via:

  • The journal’s official website, which provides permanent access to all archived issues and articles.
  • Digital repositories such as PKP PN, LOCKSS, and CLOCKSS, which allow retrieval of content in the event of technical disruptions.
  • Google Scholar and Crossref databases, where metadata and persistent DOIs ensure article discoverability.

Author Responsibilities for Self-Archiving

AIDIE supports authors in self-archiving their work in accordance with the journal's open-access policy. Authors are encouraged to:

  • Deposit pre-prints and post-prints in institutional repositories.
  • Share the published version with appropriate attribution to the journal.
  • Follow licensing terms (CC BY 4.0) when sharing published work.

More information about self-archiving policies can be found on our Author Guidelines page.

Contingency Plans

In the unlikely event that AIDIE ceases publication, the following measures will be taken to ensure continued access to its content:

  • All published content will remain accessible through PKP PN, LOCKSS, and CLOCKSS.
  • Partnering with academic libraries and repositories to maintain open access to archived issues.
  • Providing downloadable archives for institutional use.
