Withdrawal of Manuscript

Withdrawal of Manuscript Policy of AI and Developmental Insights in Education (AIDIE)

AI and Developmental Insights in Education (AIDIE) recognizes that authors may occasionally need to withdraw their submitted manuscripts due to various reasons. However, to maintain the integrity and transparency of the scholarly publication process, the journal has established a clear withdrawal policy that authors must adhere to when requesting manuscript withdrawal.

1. Withdrawal Policy Overview

Authors may request to withdraw their manuscript at different stages of the editorial and publication process. However, withdrawal requests must be made in writing and must provide a valid reason. Repeated or unethical withdrawal requests may lead to restrictions on future submissions.

2. Acceptable Reasons for Withdrawal

  • Discovery of significant errors or flaws in the research after submission.
  • Ethical concerns, such as conflicts of interest or undisclosed duplicate submissions.
  • Institutional or funding agency requirements that prevent publication.
  • All co-authors agree to withdraw due to changes in research direction or scope.

3. Withdrawal Process

Pre-Review Withdrawal (Before Peer Review Begins)

  • Authors can request withdrawal by sending an email to the editorial office at foundae.aidie@gmail.com .
  • The request must include the manuscript title, submission ID, and a valid reason for withdrawal.
  • The editorial team will review the request and confirm the withdrawal within 5-7 working days.

Post-Review Withdrawal (After Peer Review Has Commenced)

  • Withdrawal after the peer-review process is discouraged, as it consumes valuable editorial and reviewer resources.
  • Authors must provide a strong justification for withdrawal.
  • Authors are encouraged to consider revising their manuscript in response to reviewers' feedback instead of withdrawing.
  • Unjustified withdrawals at this stage may affect the author’s ability to submit future manuscripts.

Accepted Manuscript Withdrawal (After Acceptance but Before Publication)

  • Withdrawal at this stage is strongly discouraged and will only be considered under exceptional circumstances.
  • A formal request signed by all co-authors must be submitted, detailing the reasons for withdrawal.
  • The editorial team reserves the right to deny withdrawal requests if production processes have already begun.

Published Article Withdrawal (After Online Publication)

  • If ethical concerns, data falsification, or plagiarism are discovered post-publication, the editorial board may initiate a retraction instead of a withdrawal.
  • The published article will be marked as “Withdrawn” with a formal statement explaining the reason for removal, and it will remain indexed with a DOI to maintain the integrity of the publication record.

4. Consequences of Unethical Withdrawal

Authors who withdraw manuscripts frequently or without valid justification may face the following consequences:

  • Temporary or permanent ban from submitting future manuscripts to AIDIE.
  • Notification to affiliated institutions or funding agencies.
  • Inclusion in the journal’s internal watchlist for ethical concerns.

5. Editorial Rights Regarding Withdrawal

The editorial team of AIDIE reserves the right to:

  • Decline withdrawal requests if the reasons provided are deemed insufficient.
  • Suggest revisions or alternative solutions instead of withdrawal when appropriate.
  • Publish a formal withdrawal statement if the manuscript has already been assigned a DOI or has been included in citation databases.

6. How to Submit a Withdrawal Request

To submit a withdrawal request, authors should email the editorial office at foundae.aidie@gmail.com with the subject line “Manuscript Withdrawal Request – [Manuscript ID].” The request must include:

  • Manuscript title and submission ID.
  • A detailed reason for withdrawal.
  • Confirmation that all co-authors have agreed to the withdrawal.

The editorial team will confirm receipt and provide a decision within 5-7 working days.
